    Tom Waterhouse dropped

Very thankful for this. No longer shows as a partner on the website. 2013 Club Partners - SYDNEYSWANS.com.au

Has he not become a partner to the AFL competition as a whole? If so, he has probably "dropped" the Swans, rather than the other way around. Doesn't mean we'll necessarily be models in tight fitting spandex thrusting TW brochures into our hands as we enter the SCG each week.

As long as they're still there I don't care what they're handing out. I tend not to be looking at what they're giving me anyway.

Very good news. I noted last season that the presence of his promo stuff wound down as the season went on. Perhaps the club listened to the feedback from its members? Either way, I hope they listen now. No more partnership arrangements with bookmakers or betting agencies!! I don't care if other clubs do it - we can be better than that.

I don't look at what they're giving me either. I'm too busy moving my bag in front of me to cover it up!

I'll be glad if the club stops those bloody annoying TW facebook advertorials every Friday. I always hated seeing his face on those....

I don't get the Tom Waterhorse hatred on this thread. I don't get why anyone would feel scummy or that we as a club are too good for this kind of sponser. Surely it's good for the club that people and businesses want to put their money behind it. Why is Waterhorse any different to Cellarbrations, Coke, etc??
I don't recall all this indignation when Star Casino was one of the clubs partners and our boys ran around each and every week with their logo on their shorts and I reckon Star would be a far bigger contributor to gambling addiction then poor old Waterhorse.

Yeah bugger off Waterhouse. I'd like to see a return to the days when we went to the footy just to watch and enjoy the footy. The less of these peripheral distractions the better. Particularly those with a dubious ethical premise.
It's very hard to live in a studio apartment in San Jose with a man who's learning to play violin. That's what she told the police when she handed them the empty revolver.

It's fashionable Jewels. The indignation was the same when he came on board.

Like you, I also don't understand how anybody could personally feel afronted by a club sponsor.

QBE have been a great sponsor, but have I got an insurance policy with them? No, because I can get it cheaper elsewhere.

My last 4 cars have been Hyundai's and my wife drives a new Mazda. I could hardly think I could hate Carlton or Nth Melbourne anymore than I currently do, but I sure as hell aint going to let the fact they sponsor those two lowlife clubs get in the way of a financially sound decision on what I drive.

Sponsorship is about putting the brand out there, a walking, running and kicking billboard if you like. Be afronted if you like, or just not GAF like me...

Don't like gambling being associated as a major sponsor of footy. Its bad enough with FTA but at least you can fast forward.

I hope it goes the way of smokes. And I will be very pleased if Jenny can confirm that Waterhouse gambling house is no longer associated with the Swans brand.

Sorry Jewels. Seen what gambling does, and smoking, and drinking. Two down, one to go.

And I did have something to say about Star - pre RedandWhite.

It takes a lot and I mean a lot of money to run a footy club so the peripheral distractions as you call them are necessary otherwise things like winning premierships would be just a pipe dream. So putting up with a tiny bit of annoyance with the corporate promotions that go on around the club is a small price to pay for success.
