Swans v Blues Game Day Thread

Hope no-one minds if I start.

Pleasant day in Sydney, low twenties and light breeze around Homebush. Few light showers on the radar but all far away just now.

If you're coming through the north shore forget trains: all the main northern lines closed due to track work. Wonder who scheduled that on a major footy weekend.

Our best will win it easily - so let's hope we bring it.

Leigh Matthews thinks we'll lose cause we've run out of legs. Let's prove that old bastard wrong!

Here's hoping! After watching the career highlights of Malceski and Hannebery, I'm a bit pumped and hoping tonight is the night that the Swans stand up and send a warning to the remaining teams that they're not going to give up on the defence of the cup without a fight!

I think the key is to come out hard in the first half and make sure we convert opportunities. The Blues' first halves have been woeful for most of the year but they have a habit of coming home with a rush in the second half. If we're far enough in front at half time, hopefully that will all be in vain.

Yep its a good sign. Robert Walls also said something similar about the Swans. Tired and heading for a Swan dive. This is when we perform at our best. Looking forward to tonight.

I am pretty confident we will win well but have those finals nerves happening. Will be watching closely from home in Melbourne. Carn the Bloods.

This is the same guy that said a few years ago we had no young talent coming through. K.JacK, N.Smith were on the list. Not a deep thinker. (And that was an afl site on-line chat when he had had time to prepare). Still, it's hard not to be a bit worried. Confident the boys will give it their all.

Funnily enough, they were the slow, old defending premiers that day going into the last quarter under siege. Nek minnit, 44 point win.
