NEAFL 2014 Round 8
Eastlake Demons v Sydney Swans Reserves
Saturday 17th May 2014 12:00pm
Startrack Oval
The 1st of only 2 Canberra based games this year. Eastlake, along with the remaining Canberra clubs, have struggled in the new look NEAFL. In particular they have lost star players like Ryan Brabazon, Matthew O'Dwyer to rivals Sydney Uni and the influx of ex-Tuggeranong players doesn't looked like they have filled the gap adequately.
The Swans continue to streamroll the opposition, avenging their Round 2 loss to the Giants in style by the tune of 75 points. With a short injury list at the moment (only Mike Pyke and Alex Johnson are unavailable this week - touch wood!), the Swans will be overwhelming favourites for this match.

Out: Aliir ALIIR (??? - rested), George HEWETT (??? - rested) Brandon JACK (seniors)
The short injury list means that due to the 18 listed players restriction that comes in to effect when we play non-AFL reserves sides, the unlucky 2 that have missed out this week are Aliir and Hewett. Naismith's return has added to an already bulging forward line with Membrey, Nankervis, Patty Mitchell and LRT all likely to cause headaches for the Demons' defence.
Towers was spotted at the airport with the seniors which means he'll have to make his way to Canberra either late tonight or early tomorrow.

With the NSW/ACT Rams having the week off, this allows the Swans to have another look at Davis and Foote. Foote was BOG in the Rams' loss last weekend. Foster and Roser are both Swans Academy players and make their Swans Reserves debuts.
