Everything Roos said is true of course.

We should know in a few weeks (assuming they name a captain before the NS game)

    Should be interesting.

I still think we should go with someone like Maxfield, then look at handing it to a Ben Fixter/Kennelly/Saddington type of player in a couple of years ...

    Interesting....

Did I imagine that Daryn Cresswell was playing this year? Did I miss the retirement announcement?

I think Charlie meant that if Cressa were playing (which he is) then he should get mentioned as a possible candidate.

I thought it makes a lot of sense of choosing a Captain who was not part of the "past".

I know the Club will make the right decision.
In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.

What I was referring to was the way they spoke about Maxi, Nicks and O'Loughlin being the last 3 players from an era that didn't reach it's potential.

    Cressa isn't from that era???

I think Roos is on track with this one, and we as supporters need to have faith in his decision. Gotta look forward rather than back. Of the four possibles named in the article, I prefer Goodes, with Crouch as VC.

Of those 4, I would probably personally go with Saddo - has scarcely put a foot wrong since his early debut and has IMHO put in a bit more work than Goodsey - Having said that, I would not complain if any of the 7 players mentioned are given the captaincy. Each is deserving in their own way.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....
