Those who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.
Who said Andrew Ireland can retire?
He's been the best thing at this club forever.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.
Can't say I'm a fan of players becoming CEOs. Seems only a few years ago all Harley had to think about was lifting heavy weights in a gym, now runs a multi-purpose dollar business. I would think he'd need a bit more experience really.
Gary pert?

I mean, just look at Gary pert. Not that we should get pert.
I always admired Harley as a Geelong captain and in his role with the Swans. As always a slow well planned succession. It's the Swan's way.
I think he'll do well.
I've always been impressed by Tom Harley. I suspect that his captaincy and behind the scenes influence, was a major contributor to Geelong's three premierships. I also think that he's done an excellent job with player retention. I look forward to him being a highly competent and respected administrator.

I think Tom Harley is a great choice IMHO. He was captain at a club that has a similar 'good people/no dickheads' based culture and was a driver behind the growth of that culture at Geelong. He loves our club and our culture and he and his family are now firmly based in Sydney. I believe it's a fantastic move! We have a very stable club and this decision should continue the strong and positive growth of the Swans brand and integrity which shines like a beacon amidst the murky dealings and motivations of those that run AFL.......
