I think I understand his decision for sociology. Having failed in my first attempt at uni I later paired up with a close friend and we did sociology at UNSW. It helped me to a life change in work and a later change of direction. God bless Gough!

Yep. Gave me my debt free tertiary education when otherwise it would have been impossible. And there's no coincidence that the golden age of teachers passed through tertiary education in that era when every smart kid had the opportunity go to uni regardless of socio-economic background.

Just to keep this thread on track, I read or heard a few years ago a former player talking about Warwick Capper being asked to organise a footy clinic at a primary school. Instead of the usual skills sessions, Wazza decided to have a match instead where he played at full forward. The story goes that he was taking marks over grade 5 and 6 kids and yelling 'Capppppeeeer!'

Paul Chambers is currently the Community Education Manager at the Geelong Football Club. He spent a few years teaching in England and then returned to Australia to teach in the the Geelong area. Now he helps with education of primary school aged kids through the Geelong footy club

After signing with South Adelaide in the SANFL for the 2020 season James Rose pulled out of the Covid affected season to concentrate on a career selling VWs in Adelaide

He is a star....but he doesn't need to soil his CV by joining Seven!

Most charismatic presenter in the AFL right now. His interview with Bud was sooooo much better than Lewis'.

Elijah Taylor, who was to be making a comeback with Perth in the WAFL, has now been injured in a car accident and won’t be playing any time soon

This may (or may not) be the link that Ugg tried to provide in the post above. His post indicated it was about TA.
