    Dream Team- Sydney Swans Team

The club has arranged a competition to name your best SYDNEY Swans team since 1982

    This is mine:

Mark Bayes; Andrew Dunkley; Craig Bolton
Dennis Carroll; Paul Roos; Nick Smith
Barry Round; Paul Kelly, Gerald Healy
Adam Goodes; Greg Williams; Josh Kennedy
Ryan O'Keefe; Lance Franklin; Isaac Heeney
Barry Hall; Tony Lockett; Tony Morwood
IC: Brett Kirk; Jake Lloyd; Luke Parker; Dan Hannebery

I am sure there will be lots of discussions and respectful disagreements.

Also felt guilty to leave Jude Bolton, Darryn Creswell and Leo Barry out. However there is only 22 permitted.

I think you did a good job. I'd be inclined to included Jude over Heeney but I imagine in the long term Heeney will probably end up the better player

Like Blood Fever said I’d definitely pick O’Loughlin over Morwood. But I’d be leaving Heeney out for O’Loughlin. Paul Williams for Jake Lloyd is another.

I love this kind of thing.

Surprised no mentions of Leo Barry or Jarrad McVeigh. Surely both are ahead of Jake Lloyd.

    My team would be:

Nick Smith Leo Barry Craig Bolton
    Tadhg Kennelly Ted Richards LRT
Josh Kennedy Paul Kelly Gerard Healy
Adam Goodes Jude Bolton Darren Jolly
Lance Franklin Tony Lockett Michael O'Loughlin
Ryan O'Keefe Barry Hall Warwick Capper
IC: Greg Williams Jarrad McVeigh Brett Kirk Darren Cresswell

Didn't realise both McVeigh and Paul Williams were not in. Should be but almost impossible task as a selector.

Interesting full back position between Dunkley, Leo Barry and Teddy Richards.
Dunkley, your old fashioned bulky defender who was a great mark, but couldnt hit the side of a barn from close range with his kicking.
Vs a Leo barry who played above his height and provided excellent run out of defence.
Vs richards who is a bit of both.

Although at the time, I though Leo Barry was our week link, Ive since come around to view him as the early adoption of the modern full back, and therefore gets my vote.

Also Paul Roos is lock for CHB surely!

He could handball 30+m with extreme accuracy to make up for it though.

One of the funniest things I've seen is him slotting a goal from 55m out. His ball drop is that of a 5 year old.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

Yes agree but it won't let you pick Roos as CHB and Coach so I elected him for Coach.

    Dennis Carroll?
    Mark Browning?
    Steven Wright?
    Bernard Toohey?
    Merv Neagle?
    Warwick Capper?
    Barry Mitchell?
    David Murphy?
    Dale Lewis?

    What a difficult task!
