Smile AFL Round 2 general discussion

Jack Higgins now joins the Wayne Harmes MCG boundary line club. All new members welcomed except Collingwood! He marked that on platform 1 at Richmond station. The Collingwood cardboard cut outs behind the goals would've felt they were stiffed with that decision.

One them was seen wearing a gold jacket at 1/4 time as they had kept Richmond goalless for 3 months up till then! It's good to have footy back

It's good to see the Hawks playing at Kardinia Park!

I assume they had to use the GPS on the bus to find the ground ...

They didn't seem to enjoy their first outing at the ground in a decade and a half, it was delicious viewing :-) A great pity none of their arrogant supporters were there to suffer it.

Sadly, Hawks may never play there again.

Burgoyne should be suspended for the sling tackle that hit Dangerfield's big head into the ground, but let's see if the MRO manages to get him off on some kind of "elderly good guy" clause

Shows how much the AFL care about the long term affect of head trauma. Clearly a sling tackle regardless that Dangerfield played on. Can't wait for the next one to see the penalty.

They incorrectly take into account whether the player has concussion. It shouldn't matter if the player is injured. On the footy show this morning they showed examples of sling tackles where the player was suspended and I thought the force of those tackles was less than Burgoyne's.

I don't get why the AFL has to make the wording of the rules so vague and convoluted. A sling tackle shows an intent to hurt your opponent. If his head hits the ground in a sling tackle - you get suspended. To me it's black and white.

A couple of close matches today so far. Carlton had a really slow start and that cost them.

Is the limited crowd at AO extremely vocal or is it a combination of the artificial crowd noise plus the spectators I wonder ? Either way it sounds much better / genuine than previous games I’ve watched this round with just the canned crowd noise.
