Is John thinking of countering Clarko for the quest of the 3rd draft pick?

Well that's exceedingly underwhelming in the current climate.

With Clarko having a giant sook about northern academies, we really don't want to go above the tanking Hawks and risk them bidding on Campbell early! We're holding onto pick 3 by just 0.3%

Didn't think Stephens would be back in as the usual tell of the training videos/photos had him in the yellow bib!

Good to see Gould an emergency, might be getting closer!

Gould must get a run in the last two games just to see what he brings

What crazy arse time is that to play footy? When do they expect us to watch it? Some of us work for a living.

    What a crock.
My daughter lives in Cairns and was looking forward to this game (Tiger supporter) but just too hard for her and husband to get away from work early enough to pick up the daughter and get to the footy. She said others are equally disappointed. She did say it is sold out as is the next game that they have tickets for. It will be a ratings thing given Carlton is in the late game.

We play Brisbane and Geelong in the last 2 games so that might save up, but boy Hawthorn are putrid.

Yes, it seems a strange change, to me. While Taylor has more natural ball skills than Bell, the tackling pressure and gut running of Bell is far superior. And in Cairns, you probably need athletes. Looking at the weather forecast, the temperature at kickoff is predicted to be 25°C and 70-80% humidity. Not sure if that's conditions for Taylor? Though Longmire did say that Bell has done well and that he should return before the end of the season, so maybe he's a bit battered and bruised? But if that's the case, then I think Stephens or Ling could be better options for the Cairns weather.

In the selection announcement video, Horse implied that the only reason LT hasn’t been playing is because he’s had a foot problem. Maybe I misheard and he said “fat problem”

Hawthorn's last 3 games: St Kilda, Western Bulldogs, Gold Coast.
Sydney's last 4 games: Melbourne, Carlton, Brisbane, Geelong.
North's last 3 games: Port, Fremantle, West Coast.

If Hawthorn end up 2nd or 3rd bottom with that fixture, dark mutterings about "tanking" would be appropriate.

Mills is out. Replaced by McLean.

Does that imply that McCartin will be playing back? I hope so.
