Top win that. Clarke, McInerney and Wicks all really eye catching performance. Whoda thunk it?
None of this loser talk of how low we'll hopefully finish on the ladder from now on thanks.

I wonder how Auntie Gerald feels about that performance ?

Good games from some much criticized players. Clarke and Squizzy particularly. Thurlow was also solid, except for a couple of fumbles in defence, but his kicking is very good. Wicks is more than just a tackler. He's a solid field and goal kicker. McLean isn't quick, but is quite clever for such an inexperienced player.
There's a lot to work with here. And still plenty of good players and prospects not in the side.
But Melbourne really didn't play well at all. They missed plenty of opportunities and their pressure wasn't that great either.
I liked us with 3 tall defenders. None of them had great games, but the extra height was valuable. It was hard stopping Gawn, but Petracca was kept fairly quiet.
I remember that Ed Langdon was one of our trade targets, but went to Melbourne. He got plenty of the ball, but his kicking was horrid. Happy that trade didn't come off.
According to the tracker data, guess who was the fastest player tonight, with a speed of 32.4kph? Hint: I was getting tempted to give him the moniker of Tubby, but I might hold off now.
I hope we perservere to some degree. The kid has heaps of talent - always has. Need his output and effort to lift, but I think he would be really helped by playing him simply as a crumbing forward. His goal showed what he can do in that role. Surely he can see that this team has ample opportunity to go places in years to come, so it'll be up to him if he wants to be part of that journey.

Drop that sweet caroline nonsense Daisi and I totally agree
I like how we are trying to play the game, and I'm liking that when it clicks, we play some nice attacking footy when we have the ball. There is a lot to like about what we are trying to do with the way forward - and the signs are good that our list is beginning to shape nicely. Plenty of gaps to work on, but I'm enjoying the ride, even with the awful performances thrown in at times.
I've got a good feeling we are going to really enjoy watching this team develop in coming years
