Does that imply McCartin to play back?

And McLean forward. It must. I wonder whether they're resting Mills to try the macks out in those positions.

That's certainly a possibility. I've only ever seen McLean play deep forward or ruck, so he probably won't be playing back. Although instead of spending time in the ruck, Aliir could play defence. Though I quite liked Aliir as a midfield link and McCartin as a defender, last week.

I also quite like McLean. He can clunk a mark and has a go. A bit like Nankervis, really. Nankervis is a better ruckman, but McLean is probably a better forward.

I’m hoping they let AA ruck and play McCartin back after his performance last week. Fingers crossed.

With Mills going out I was hoping for Gould. He might not play this year. Anyway, as others have said, it looks likely that Tom will be in defence and Hayden will be up front. Hope we challenge the Dees this afternoon.

Current Cairns weather is not too bad. 25°C and 70% humidity. There is a fairly fresh, 20kph sea breeze coming in: which seems helpful.

Gould would have been a reasonable swap for Mills. And we are all gagging to see him get his first game.

What's going on? The commentators are praising our young midfield brigade.

    Positive start this arvo.

Was thinking we were a sneaky chance to win this one before the game too
