So, we must have finalised our full VFL list too. Has it been published anywhere?
All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)

Four days until their first game and we don't even know the full list yet. Or even if there is a full list.
We have them where we want them, everything is going according to plan!

Lists are here: No Cookies | Herald Sun

It's been split into a primary list and a development list.

    Primary list

    Darcy Cordell
    Ryan Hebron
    Harry Morrison
    Jake Bartholomaeus
    Adam Gulden
    Patrick McCartin
    William Collis

    Development list

    Nicholas Brewer
    Max Geddes
    Lachlan McAndrew
    Sam Thorne
    Reed van Huisstede
    Aidan Watling
    Harry Maguire

The one name I think is new in there is William Collis, and the one name that is not in there is Ben Silvagni. Wonder what happened to him.

A quick search on Collis reveals he is a defender who used to play for the Casey Demons in 2019.

More digging: Collis is Papley's close friend https://www.sydneyswans.com.au/news/...cision-to-stay

Edit: Silvagni is listed under the Northern Bullants!

Great post, ugg. Thanks very much. Any idea what the difference between the primary and development lists is? Do other VFL teams have the same division?

The Giants didn’t break their list down into primary and development, at least in that article. In fact they have many more players I’m not sure how that works. The only difference I can see is age, the players in the development list are noticeably younger.

Maybe we're going to save money by using Academy players if we need additional top ups?

From a quick glance, the primary list is people we've signed to play VFL from other clubs (NEAFL, SFL, VFL). The development list is an academy train on squad. As in, recent academy graduates, who were close to a rookie spot, but didn't quite get there.

If we get hit by injuries, I'm sure we'll use some academy top ups, but at the moment, we have plenty of players. I noticed that a couple of the guys on the development list, played in the SFL on the weekend, instead of in the practice match against the Giants.
