I think Hayward's overall game is improving by the week. His marking has been great. OK, he missed an easy goal from right in front, but he kicked 2 hard ones. Maybe he needs to be tested for colour blindness. He picked out players in dark blue a couple of times without a red jumper in sight.
There's something not right about his awareness and decision making, but if he can get over that hump, he should be a very good player, worthy of being in the best 22 of any club.
I understand that for those supporters currently on life support, the wait has been long enough, but he could be another Tom Hickey. Once he turns 30 he'll be a superstar. Even Gary Rohan seems to have turned the corner.
