I can accept free kicks being given away if someone is going for the ball or doesn’t execute a tackle properly. Umpire abuse free kicks I can’t tolerate because they hurt the team for no other reason than selfish petulance.

The coaching staff need to get this petulance out of Papley’s game. Papley behaviour towards officials is not improving.

Papley needs stronger consequences and a two week stint as the medical sub with the associated job around the boundary at the end of the game may refocus him.

I want Papley to stop worrying about what umpires are doing and focus on doing his job and being that amazing inspiring player that we all enjoy watching play the game.
Paps can stay Paps. My 11yo son loves him, tries to play like him but is sensible enough to view his outbursts in the context of his passion and the importance of an AFL game (as opposed to his U11.5 match). As well, we discuss these issues and he knows how to behave with his umpires.

On the off chance he makes it to the AFL, I would condone him blowing up at Razor Ray and his biased mob.

    My changes would be:

    In: Stephens, Blakey, Brand
    Out: Bell, Fox, Hayward (inj)

Warner will come in if fit I'd expect - and maybe we might see a suprise in one of the longer term younger injury guys getting up after the bye too. Definitely think Brand will come into the team (our achilles heel is being routinely exploited down back now).

    What a load of nonsense

I will take undiscipline because undisciplined means frustrated and frustrated means they give a you know what

The rest of the team could've done with that !

Ding Dong may not be the most talented, for sure. In a way I’m reminded of Kirky when he started- he was pretty ordinary if memory serves me correctly! So I would try him in a similar role and see how he goes. Otherwise there’s no obvious spot for him.

A question guys- when do you think we should play Gould to see if he can make it and also bring Ling in for a few games? Horse wants the best team each week but half the season is gone and I think we have exceeded expectations so the coaching staff have one eye on the finals. This is understandable but let’s face it, we are not good enough at this stage. Our defence is leaking goals and there isn’t sufficient rebound. This was highlighted against the Dawks who were able to bring the ball out of their backline with ease and kick to targets up forward, while we struggled to even clear the ball from our backline, let alone kick/handball to advantage. We have Pelican, Brand and Gould as talls as well as McCartin (who was down last 2 weeks) and we need to play 3 against most teams.

Coaches expect too much from Ramps.

We will still aim for finals- it's in the club's DNA. Understand your doubts about whether we belong there but the next 3 rounds will probably tell the tale. If we falter in the second half of the year, then others will.get games. If we win 11 games, we will have exceeded expectations by some margin. We were lucky to beat Cats and Saints so we could have been 6 and 7. Very fine line. Very even competition now except for a few top teams.

Agreed Blood Fever. Based on that, bring in Chad and Brand for Wicks and Fox. I’m assuming Hayward will be ok.

I would consider moving Mills back into the back line. We are clearly missing something back there. His reading of the play and stability are sorely missed. It's no coincidence that the back line fragility has happened since he has gone into the midfield.

No way. We are still coming 6th and a big part of putting us in that position is Mills to the midfield. In fact, he easily has been out best midfielder this year.

    In - Taylor, Chad, Brand

Would not mind if Horse decides to send Hewett forward, drop Bell, put Taylor as sub, and get in Oriordan, brand and Chad. Or can Ling come in?

Would not put Mills in backline any more. Those days are behind us. We have enough untried backline personnel in the 2s we should try out before we think about Mills. And horse needs to stop using ramps as a tall defender. He should do the role of Fox and Brand And McCartin should mind the talls.

Hayward has the bye to cover his 12 day post concussion rest. Should be right to go against Port.
