Is it wrong to be happy he was suspended for a week ? To be honest it would have been more preferable to have this happen in a couple of weeks but I don’t think it’s going to have as much impact as previous absences.
Nothing. It's Buddy.
It was a silly thing to do and should be fined
1 week. You can't go around throwing elbows
2 weeks - who knows with the MRO?
Heeney is hot

I’d like to know how Buddy’s hit is graded ‘medium’ impact and Shuey ‘low’. This seems like the grading was used to get the outcome.
The Swans won’t appeal with the early plea in place as it’s not worth the risk. [Edit: or is it one week either way - in which case, maybe they would.]

A week off is not so bad given he hasn't had a 'rest' for a while. He seems to have played many more games than I was expecting given the early conservative predictions for his year.
Lance Franklin, Sydney Swans, has been charged with Striking Luke Ryan, Fremantle, during the second quarter of the Round 19 match between the Sydney Swans and Fremantle played at Metricon Stadium on Sunday July 25, 2021.
In summary, he can accept a one-match sanction with an early plea.
Based on the available evidence, the incident was assessed as Careless Conduct, Medium Impact, High Contact. The incident was classified as a one-match sanction as a first offence. The player can accept a one-match sanction with an early plea.
I wonder if Bud is able join his family in quarantine now?
We should appeal.
The three similar incidents they showed on AFL 360 from previous rounds suggests that there is an equity issue here. There is no obvious difference to suggest that a medium impact grading should only be applied to the incident from this weekend. An appeal, on that basis, should win.
