Changes for Round 23 v Gold Coast Suns

    Outs: Blakey, Kennedy, McLean
    Ins: Warner, Lloyd, Franklin.
Assuming Blakey, Mills and Kennedy don't come up and good chance for Warner to get match fit in a dead rubber.

Those seem very reasonable changes. I wonder if they'll keep COR in and/or give Hickey a break and bring in Amartey for another run?

Fingers crossed 🤞 However I don't think they will take any chances and I think they would think about resting him regardless if no pre- finals bye

Silly , we need our best team this is a fine tune for finals we've treated the last 2 weeks as vacation time now time to put our bums down and get serious . Field the best team we can , if Kennedy is cleared of serious damage he plays

    Outs:

    Assuming no before finals bye.

    Wicks (Managed)
    Reid (Managed)
    Gulden (Managed)
    Parker (Managed)
    Hickey (Managed)
    J-Mac (Managed)
    McCartin (Managed)
    Kennedy (Injured)
    Blakey (Injured)

    Ins

    Franklin
    Logan
    Bell
    Mills
    Chad
    Amartey
    COR
    Lloyd
    Stephens

I’m resting some structural guys you can’t afford to lose (Hickey McCartin).

I’m resting some younger guys who need to freshen up - Wicks, Gulden J-Mac.

I’m giving some older guys a week off Reid and Parker.

I’m bringing in some guys who need to get moving again after being out Franklin, Lloyd, Chad and Mills.

I want playing time into Logan ,Amartey and CORas finals injuries might bring them in.

I want to give Bell and Stephens another chance.

I want to keep Campbell playing as a small forward and I want Rowbottom to build on a good 1st half.

If I get this side correct there has to be an award.

Logic is sound and but do we fiddle with form... Likely to be GWS and we will need to be on our A game for which ever the team is for the first week of the finals..

Buddy to have 5 games at 3 goals a week to get to 1000 (Sun's and 4 finals.. = 1000)

Really disappointing for Nick Blakey, but a cracked fibula isn’t the worst injury it could have been; I was worried both bones might have been broken watching the incident on replay.
Probably give Kennedy the week off too, and bring back Warner. Rowbottom will need to play more second-half minutes.

I wonder whether they'll go with O'Riordan or Campbell in that line-breaking rebounder role.

Yep interesting dilemma. I think COR is more of that unpredictable line breaker whilst Campbell could be more effective with taking it on with kicks through the corridor. I think I would go Campbell just.

The North player accidentally made contact with Blakey's ankle in the marking contest. The fibula stabilises the ankle on the outside and it is a thin bone. The tibia is the main weight-bearing bone and does not extend as far down the leg as the fibula. It is not unexpected that only the fibula is broken here.

Hopefully the injury doesn't require surgery. A cracked bone without any displacement can heal well without surgery.
