Finals Week 2: ugghhh, they're all other games.

Even though our season has come to a screeching halt, I'm sure many of us are still interested in the finals, as we're fans of the game, rather than just fans of the Swans. I mean, I'll happily watch soccer, league, American football, union (at a pinch), but there's no code that I enjoy anywhere near as much as our own game.

Tonight's semi is over in Perth, between Geelong and GWS. In this, it's sort of tempting to say that Geelong looked pretty terrible against Port and GWS played well against us, so therefore GWS are a good chance. However, in our finals system, things don't really work like that. Since the introduction of the present system in 2000, the losing qualifying finalists have a 34 to 8 winning record over the winners of the elimination final. Plus, Greene getting himself suspended and Green getting injured, might have let a fair bit of air out of the tyres of the Giants. Either way, I don't really see either team spoiling Melbourne's party in the prelim.

Tomorrow night Brisbane host the Bulldogs at the Gabba. With no recent covid outbreaks up here, (as far as I know), there should be a raucous crowd at the Gabba. Hopefully, they'll be raucous enough to prevent another edition of "free kick Bulldogs". Go the Lions.

The games have been riveting for the last 10 weeks as the top 4 and top 8 was never settled, and then some epic finals last week. I know we lost, but a 1 point final is epic either way.

This weekend could be very boring. GWS coped injuries and suspension, and will probably be lambs to the slaughter tonight. I'm expected a big Geelong win.
And the other game, Lions have got injuries galore too, and footscray with the umps help will probably win comfortably.

    Hoo hum.

There's a part of me that wants the Giants to win to give Toby prolonged angst about his doofus-ness, but nah - GWS suck.

And if there is a single person on this forum who wants the Dogs to win, or indeed, not to lose in a cruel and heart-breaking way, then I'll take you out back for a whooping.

Man, it's painful to be cheering for Geelong. Might just avoid.

And the quicker that GWS go out, the greater the chance that Greene will still be suspended, when we play them next year.

I'm looking forward to watching tonight's game but am ambivalent about the result.

I know what I want from the Lions/Poodles match, though! Hoping that the Lions put the Poodles to sleep and win by either 10 goals or one point!

    Go Lions!

We may not agree on many things Barry, but mutual dislike for the fairypuppies is one.

May they get slaughtered by the lions and preferably also the umpires!

Really hard to judge tonights game - but hard to see a Greene less plastics getting up. But the old age pensioners were far from impressive last week, so are definitely gettable imho.
