Buried in this piece from SEN about Collingwood president electing whinging about the soft-cap is a sentence that would send shivers down many of our spines.

Browne also flagged his approval for the push to put former Pies president Eddie McGuire in one of the empty seats on the AFL Commission.
That is footy clubs and what they can do at their best. Great stuff - and that coming from someone that has relatively little time for the entity that is lol@Norf - but they deserve all the kudos in the world for how they've supported Dani.
Where is the vomit emoji when you need it. Sadly I expect it will happen at some point

Just looking at this thread on bigfooty (7) Which club do you hate the most? | BigFooty I was surprised to discover that the runaway leader (after 749 votes) for most hated club was..... Essendon (with 24.6% of all votes - about 4 times as many as Collingwood!). I was even more surprised that Geelong was second (with 14.3%) - I reckon Chris Scott can take a lot of the credit for that, and maybe Selwood with his ducking. Carlton uncontroversial 3rd place (12.7%). Conversely Hawthorn only 6.3% - I would have thought they'd be more hated than Geelong. We're bottom 3 with 0.9%, about level with Brisbane on 0.8% and behind the Suns on 0.4%.
All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)
Loose translation from the Latin is - I am tall, so I hit out.
I think anyone who thinks there is much connection between the AFL & the EPL (other than the players in both leagues chase a ball around
whilst running on grass) needs to have their faculties checked out. But as we all know the Collingwood boardroom and the local mental
hospital have been indistinguishable for a long time.
Side note of interest…The AFL is the fourth highest attended sports league in the world.
1) NFL - average attendance 67,405
2) German Football League - 43,458
3) EPL - 38,168
4) AFL - 36,637
The NRL is 10,687!!! Also interesting is home many EPL teams have stadiums with capacity in low-mid twenties.
