I have no problem with them going after Will Haywood. Hayward is another matter.

Cornes has now doubled down on his admiration for Hayward. This article includes quotes from McVeigh on why Hayward is so respected within the club.

The type of players that need more love and recognition externally

I like this as I assume KB uses a similar approach across the board and anyone he has drafted has passed this test and have some mental fortitude.
Sounds like Oliver would have been a “ Wanna Go Home “ candidate if drafted out of Victoria.

Dragon dance: The push for Chinese Australians to embrace footy

The Swans vs West Coast game is going to be "China-themed", including a pre-game dragon dance.

I don't mind the idea - junior footy clubs in Sydney are pretty white places, given the broader cultural mix in society as a whole.

Great initiative that pushes back on the stupid anti China narrative that permeates our main stream media at the moment.

Geez I must stop eating so many oversized raspberry muffins at Anna’s BEANIE M in Mosman in case I run into KB!

Kind of low key to be honest, but quite entertaining. One of the dragons was held up in part by what I guess was supposed to be a giant inflatable football, which took some controlling. A lot of the kids seemed like they enjoyed it anyway.

Andrew Ireland has now joined the AFL Commission. Good to have an ex Swans CEO as a Commissioner, who will will hopefully help shine the football spotlight at a national level and not just Vic. Andrew's expansive footy experience having worked roles in QLD & NSW should be most valuable to the Commission.

First extended interview (I think?) from Grundy as a Swan:

‘I needed to be playing AFL football’: Grundy ready to ruck in Sydney
