I would be very surprised if they play both rucks. Out of that bench I expect:

Nick Blakey, Ryan Clarke, James Rowbottom and Logan McDonald to play. Josh P. Kennedy as Sub.

Matt Roberts, Peter Ladhams and Ben Ronke to play Reserves unless Hickey does not come up.

Hmm. That would surprise me since Reid's been doing so well in the hybrid role, which John noted on Monday.

I've regarded the Amartey in over McDonald as essentially allowing Logan to play himself into form/confidence in the reserves, with the intention, ultimately, to bring Logan back.

I indicated earlier in the thread that I thought this might be the game for that, and that remains my hope and expectation.

Logan for Amartey for the simple fact he didnt do enough to keep Logan out, same happened for Logan a few weeks back.

As for playing alongside Buddy, between him, Paps, Heeney and Reid surely its a gift being the 5th string fwd ?

Lets not pretend Buddy is stopping anyone from kicking bags, plenty of opportunity for a developing Fwd.

The assumption was, I believe, that people would know they were talking about 3rd string TALL forward.

I really don't think we should play both Hickey and Ladhams either. We will need plenty of speed and running in the finals. Its not like either will be likely to clunk a lot of marks up forward. Better to go with one of McDonald, Armetey or McLean up forward instead. Its a toss up between those three at present. All bring different attributes to the table. If we play finals at the MCG which will happen if we make the final 4 (Melb or Geelong), then I think McDonald is the best bet on the wide open spaces with his ability to cover ground well and kick long (albeit not always straight).

Are Amartey & McLean much faster than Ladhams?
