Just saw on NRL tonight that soccer,.rugby league, rugby union and special event organisers are getting a quote done to roof Accor (formally ANZ stadium).
If I recall correctly, it was designed structurally for a roof, and they expect it to only be $100-200m.
It's still an AFL ground you know.
It's because of the exponential growth in the number of big-time concerts since Covid, and the lousy parking and Nimby neighbour problem
at Allianz, there is interest in putting a roof on Accor. Half the world has roofs on their stadiums these days. We're miles behind of course.
Somehow I can't see footy being played there for quite a while though. The Swans don't want it and the Giants have their own excellent stadium
next door.
