I wonder how Buchanan would feel about Hall becoming captain?

Bazza would make a good captain, but you'd have to figure Kirk gets first refusal. He (Bazza) probably needs to demonstrate a bit more self-control though!

Why would Kirk get first refusal when he is not as good a player as Bazza ??
Maybe it's just cos his name goes well with Captain !

Like Buckley? Or Crawford? Or maybe Hird?

All good Captains give plenty to the umpire too. Some just get treated better than others. And as long as you still get a few Brownlow votes at the end of the year, they obviously dont hate you TOO much

I agree that all captains have a crack at the umpsat some stage, however, compare umpire rage to road rage.

You can sit in your car, hock your horn, swear and give the bird, or you can get out of your car and beat the crap out of the other driver. I see Hall as the latter, with the umpire rage.

If Hall hits an umpire, we should have a whip around to cover the fine.

I personally would love Barry Hall to Captain the Swannies, I think he would be just a great inspiration and darn great leader.
