Captaincy

Hi all!

This is my first post....after many months of browsing.

Just heard on 2GB Sydney news that the swans have chose to have the captaincy shared between 6 players for the remainder of the season, rather than choosing 1. Whats everyones thoughts on this ?

Will be interesting to how it works - especially if team members respond to different captains. Also gives a chance to see who can handle it best rather than ruining a whole year on bad captaining.

i just read the same thing on afl.com.au.
cant say i am impressed. this is just a soft option. kirky was doing ok.should have left him as captain until end of the year then reaccess the situation.
i think this just cheapens the value and prestige of being club captain. Especially as we have had outstanding captains in the past , ie kelly ,carroll , skilton.
anyway , if miracles occurred and we won this years premiership , who would they present the trophy to , all 6 of them..

WTF? 6 players!?! Why not just make everyone a captain!!

Maybe the theory is that with captaincy experience players become more valuable as trade bait?

are tou serous ? as we are only 7 weeks into the season i dont think that they would doing this with trading in mind. i dont think that they would be looking to trade a future captain unless it was an expectional deal

I would say the opposite.With 6 of our better players vying for the captaincy and with onfield performance being a component of captaincy they will be busting a gut on the field.
I reckon this could be a catalyst for a good run of victories.
