I don't think there's any doubt that Indigenous footballers do have a certain quality that makes them stand out from the crowd. Goodes' point is that there's a lot of hard work for this quality to be able to be shown on the big stage. Freakish or no freakish ability you still need to put in the hard yards to be fit enough to play AFL football.
