The umpires certainly disagree with Richmond supporters that Dustin Martin was a superior player to Hanners this year. In fact they believe Dan was one and a half times as good!

Those who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.
That will be a very good point to remember for future arguments!
Obvious spoiler is obvious.
Once again Adam leads our club, but the future looks rosy is I do say so myself, considering who polled.

Good work by the young brigade, methinks. Some more consistancy and games (and wins) should attract a lot more attention for Hanners, Jack and McGlynn from the umpires in the future

Interesting we were amongst the highest polling clubs, but had a really big spread of players, I mean we have 16 players who polled votes, which is a good sign around our depth. Which is exciting really
You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler
Fancy Hanners getting bogs! We are bringing up that child really well.
The other thing I noted, the more obvious tatts you have, the fewer votes you get.....
If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhood
Yep, only the Pies had more players who polled, though they only polled one more vote in total. Geelong's flash factor is evident in by how far they were the best polling team (and they also had 16 players who polled votes).
Certainly seems that they umpires notice our boys when they play well - we polled the third most votes in total, significantly ahead of the likes of Hawthorn, Carlton and Freo who finished around us on the ladder, and also outpolling the Dogs and Saints despite winning fewer games. They also seemed to be reasonably on the ball with which Swans they gave top honours to. Hanners scored BOGs in the three games he clearly stood out. Jack was recognised for his purple final month, Goodesy for his explosion when he moved into the midfield.
Put Hanners votes in the memory bank for Brownlow bets in future years - 3 BOGs for such a young player is a very good sign. In Judd's first season 2002 he didn't land a single vote, managed 12 in his second season before winning it in 2004.
"As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk
Those calling for Bradshaws axeing, maybe they forgot how good he was early in the season?
Remind me who because I don't remember anyone asking for him to be dropped.
White, Bevan, Moore, Merry, Shaw, Hyphen, Teddy, and to a lesser extent B1, ROK , Kirk and even Goodes were names thrown up but Bradshaw?
edit: actually Cheer Squad was one not to keen on him, but I can't find any others.
