    Mal Vs Barry

Everyone will say the Mal won, but I say that Barry clearly lost.

    How injured is he?

Or doesn't he know how to lead anymore?

Surely he has more pace than Michael?

His marking sucks when it matters, and his kicking is average.

Yet he is still the only forward the ball is sent to.

Plus, he's got more than 2 opponents almost every time and they still kick to him.
My Pokemon brings all the boys to the yard and they're like "Wanna trade cards?"
"Damn right, I wanna trade cards. I can beat you, I've got Charizard!"

He is being constantly double teamed yet we still kick it to him. He has never been able to outmark multiple opponents over his head. With the new rule he now struggles to outmark one opponent.

We need to find a new forward structure.

Triple teamed a number of times.

Seems the teams that flood the best are the only ones who can beat us.

It works - we have no answer. We've kicked only 8 goals to 3QT in each game against the 'Roos, StKilda and Essendon.

hally was mals bitch tonight. do doubt about it.

for how long have i been saying why are we only kicking it to bbbh? he hasn't really been "in" or "on" form for a while. when was the last time he bagged a handfull?
if he's being triple (or even quadruple) teamed, that leaves at least two other players free. geez, i'd even be happy if it was matthews that was free and ended up with the ball somewhere in the 50 (albeit right in front for ole' benny-boy).
there are other options, and the players all think bbbh will be the saviour. on nights like tonight ... please go the other option.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

He's in career worst form, but is easily in the best 22. I'm thinking he should be played much further up the ground until this in the back rule calms down abit. He's being more of a hinderence than a help ATM.

I am very confused as to why he didn't do more of that today. Last week he was beaten in the forward 50 yet still made a really telling contribution by running wide and long and setting lots of stuff up. Michael would have had no chance of keeping up with him.

And if it helps by clearing out three defenders from our forward 50, all the better.

has had an indifferent year thats for sure. our delivery to him in the forward 50 has been poor all year of floating it on top of his head instead of delivering the ball out front. this leaves an easy task for two or three defenders to come over the top. He is also playing for free kicks at far too many contests.

but i think mick o loughlin was a poorer player tonight Ryder lead him a dance all night being too quick and not falling for mick's trick of putting opponents under the ball.

I thought his opponent Paddy was great. Beat Mick in all departments.

From the times Hall has been played a lot) further up the ground) it hasn't gone well from my memory.
I recall times he was thrown in the ruck to get him in the games and he was clearly out of his comfort zone, and didn't know how to play in the middle of the ground.
all he did was give away (more than usual) free kicks.

Given his plight of being double teamed day in day out, I would have assumed that the Swans would be helping him out in developing another role for him on the ground.
Train him how to properly play on the wing.
With space, maybe he will be able to lead a bit more and we know he can take an uncontested mark.
He's also a great kick and should find a target.
Would also be hard for the opposition to match up on him out there.
Double teaming him would be very wasteful.

One of Hall's greatest strengths was his fitness and durability despite his size. To me it looks as if he has slimmed down a bit this year, so you'd assume that this area would have improved even more, but I se it as having diminished.
