I'm going to sound like Robert Walls here, but why not let him take some of the boundary throw-ins in the forward 50, and he is usually a good chance of snagging a goal there.

I seee him at close range most of the time. Have been saying for a while that he has been in terrib le form.

If a week or 2 in Canberra doesn't do the trick, then maybe a spell either on the ball or at CHB might do the trick. Also because in both positions playing for free-kicks every time you get the ball is just not acceptable.

Barry Hall is our centre half forward.

Sure he didn't play well today, but he is centre half forward.

And we did win at the MCG without he or Magic having a big game.
That win was a lot more impressive than it looked on face value.

Yes Barry Hall has played at CHF for the past few years, and I am not having a go at his current form slump- I just don't think he is playing at CHF. Hall is playing closer to goals (presumably because of his limited movement) than he has since he reguarly lined up at FF and of our HFFs Ryan O'Keefe is playing further up the ground this year and Nick Davis was playng further up the ground but is playing a lot closer to goals the last couple of games. I think we need a marking target around HF- bring in Vogels or White and give them 10 minutes per quarter across HF to play old school CHF and crash some packs!
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

It was certainly noticeable yesterday - Baz was either playing way up the field or in the goal square. Not sure where Micky O was but there was a real vaccuum at CHF.

IT's almost like Davis is becoming our preferred option at CHF?

Hall to permanent FF, Davis, Goodes & Micky O rotate thru CHF, midfield & FP/HFF. Grundy or Vogels as third tall.

I agree. I think the other points on this thread are well made too but his eyesight still seems an issue to me as well.

I worry about his marking ability, and I think it is off because he is worried about a spoil coming from a close by opposition player.
    Which is the big problem.
    Leading.

If he is constantly being double teamed, move him to the true CHF position where it's unlikely the opposition will continue to drop a man back.

    His fitness is a concern.

He's been double teamed most of his career, why suddenly can't he make a good lead.
He should have shat all over Mal Michael fitness wise.

Barry Hall made he's name as a full forward with the Swans .Put him back there and keep him in the three quarter line.

He also needs to stop playing for the free.
Captain, I am detecting large quantities of win in this sector

How about a bid for Nick Riewoldt, especially with the current problems at St Kilda? He would add a further dimension to an already impressive forward line and another marking option would provide another mountain of problems for the opposition.

Agreed. I sent an sms to Wardy during the game saying he should concentrate on his 2nd efforts rather than trying to get the frees. Does he not read the papers? He doesn't get all the frees that are there so I don't fancy his chances for getting some Mathwe Lloyd style.
