    Rnd 3 v Brisbane Lions.

First game at the Demolition G. Brisbanes young guns have carried their good form from the NAB cup into the Home and Away season with 2 wins from 2. The Swans are unchanged, with all eyes on Barry Hall's knee.
MOL notches up game 250 for the Swans, and Jolly (100).
The starts in style with the big guns firing at both ends. MOL scores the first, in his 250th, but it is the Brown and Hall show. Both defences lack the strength to stop these two powerhouses of the AFL. 3 goals a piece, but it is the swans by 1 goal at 1/4 time. The gritty lions keep the swans in check during the 2nd term and trail by 2 points at the main break.

Jolly is having a field day in the middle picking up many hitouts. O'Loughlin struggles to make an impact and the skill of the swans goes out the door. Brown is kept in control by the no frills C Bolton, who continues to be one of the best and most reliable defenders in the game. 3 goals to the Lions and they are in the lead, and threatening to upset the day.

Step up one B Kirk. The strange hippy non-footy looking guy. The one with the mouthful of words of wisdom. He did it in the 2005 PF, and now does it again. The lions cling desperately to the lead, but they are running out of steam. The swans keep coming and it is MOL who gets 2 goals in the final term who becomes the hero. Schmidt (2 goals) and J Bolton, who has had another quiet day, lift and victory is assured.

5.8 to 0.1 leaves a smiling crowd to exit the Demolition G with knowledge that Brisbane is still our bitch.

    Rnd 4 v Adelaide Crows.

With almost half the crows on the injury list, Leo Barry's 200th game, this is the swans big chance for a long awaited victory.
The game started with the swans applying great pressure to their opponents. MOL in particluar had the aggresion meter all the way up. The trouble was the rewards didn't come. 4 missed shots resulting in a 4 points. 3 50m penalties and a rather large lead to the Crows in the context of the way the game was being played.
The missed shots continued. The crows had a loose man in defence and Hall was up against 2-3 opponents on a regular basis. But it mattered little, Rutten who looked like he would not play was outplaying Hall even without the support. Mcleod was at his magical best, picking up possessions with ease, and hitting his team mates with pin point accuracy. 5 goal lead at half time. Things are looking shaky. O'Keefe is playing his best game of the year, the only swan showing much fight.
4 goals in the third term, including 2 to Jolly in as many minutes, and the swans are still in the game. The Crows though are unstoppable. They control the ball, control the tempo, and control the game. Excellent work from the undermanned Crows to squeeze the life out of the swans.

It would make interesting to see how the TLM and BMR's top ten players compares. It's not having a go at BMR, but would be interesting to see how the fans votes compare to who the press sees as best players each week.

    Rnd 5 v Melbourne

Melbourne are down and out with a huge injury list. This is a game the swans must win. Hall is unstoppable in the first qtr, until the Dees dropped a player into the hole in front of him. This slowed his impact, but he still managed to have a huge impact on the ground. 6 goals to 1 in the first.
Davis was back showing his worth to the team with some great kicks into the F50. Kirk and Bolton worked hard in the midfield. Kennelly, Richards and Barry, continued their great work down back. While Malceski continued his rise of stature with the team.
The Dees, started to perfrom better through Bates and Davey, with great help from new boy Petterd. But they had no answer to stop the rampaging swans, who did enough to keep them at bay, and never let them get within sight of stealing victory. The night was soured by an ugly knee injury to Kennelly, closely followed by another to Ablett.
    49 point win.

    Rnd 6 v Kangaroos

The night at the Dome started, well winning the ball and getting it forward, but for little reward.
The Roos however, banged on goal after goal. Ex-Swan Shannon Grant the standout player. Down by 6 goals at the first break. Not the start we were looking for. An exact opposite of the previous weeks start.
A bit of reshuffling and the swans manage to stem the flow, but not stop it. 2 goals to one and the score has not improved much.
The third term offers a little bit more, but the swans still can't get on top. The Roos are on fire, as they have been for the past few weeks. The highlight of the term is a great mark and goal to Jolly, and a spectacular high flying mark from Leaping Leo, which brought the crowd to their feet.

Goals to Mathews, Hall and O'Loughlin, and wer are within 4 points, the game is there to be taken, the crowd is riding every bump, and the team is lifting. The ball rebounds once too often and the Roos extend their lead, beyond the reach of the resurgent swans.
Keiran (Son of Gary) Jack, promoted to SEnior list and a solid debut agsint the Roos.
