My junior footy club in Sydney was the only one in the country that wore Port Melbourne's strip (this was in the late 80s/early 90s), or so we were told at the time. We went down to play some games against a club in Melbourne (and, in a big suprise to everyone, actually won thank you very much) and the Port Melbourne guys had us over to watch a game then have a meet and greet with the butchers, bakers and candlestick makers... it was back in VFA days, they were really chuffed to see a bunch of kids in the Port strip
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

The Tassie Devils were spanked in a praccy match yesterday at North Hobart Oval by Collingwood's VFL reserves.

I often wonder why Tasmania bothers playing at North Hobart during the pre-season since they do not at all play at the venue during the season.

Tassie are aiming for 2 Wooden Spoons this season.

Freddy Cook!! I was related to him via marriage (his) for a year or so.
I used to follow 'The Borough' back in the early 80's when Gary Brice was coaching them. Haven't followed them for 20 years though.
