Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

All I can see when he's out running around is hair and teeth.

I know he tries hard and he is liked by some on this forum, but I just dont have much time for him as a footballer.

Poor season. Stopped improving a fair while ago and has now gone backwards in my opinion.

Not nearly as bad as some here who refuse to take the blinkers off.

Not pretty and certainly a long way from a star, but in an undersized backline which we have battled with for the best part of a decade, he is a vital cog.

    3/10

The lanky defender managed to play every game this year after only playing 2 in 2007, but his performances weren't consistent and more often that not, he's a liability in the back line.

In terms of statistics compared to 2006 (when he last played most of the year), his disposals numbers have increased (avg. 11.9 in 2008 vs. 10.2 in 2006), so has his marks (4.5 vs. 3.6), tackles (2.0 vs. 1.5) and hitouts (1.3 vs. 0.5).

He did have some pretty good games and got a fair bit of the ball eg. against Brisbane, Geelong and Western Bulldogs, but for a significant part of the season he didn't get much of the ball and was one of the poorer performers in the backline.

Will he improve his skills? I don't think so.
I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!!

7 from me. Oh honestly you lot! He has courage to burn, can fight with the best of them, is quietly getting on with his game and improving all the time, and he was making safer decisions this year and moving quicker than previously. No slouch, just looks slow because he has an ungainly body. Love him most of the time.

I'm with you (and TripleB). I wonder if I watch the same player as some on here. I don't think it was his best season but he was mostly solid, put in decent performances against the likes of Brown and Richo, and his skill level is generally reasonably good. He makes most of his decisions far more quickly and soundly than a few years ago. Sure, he makes some absolute clangers at times but so do pretty much all players. I don't think he generated many more "hold the head in the hands" cringe moments this year than Bolton, Mattner, Barry, Richards or Kennelly.
