Good luck Tim. Thanks for being a red and white man.
sad news because he could play , i was always a fan of his , sad not to see him fulfill his playing potential in the red and white.
Oh dear. That is so disappointing. He is a cuddly favourite of mine with those bright brown eyes. And my lordy he could play. I guess his body is just not going to cooperate. I would like to send my official Bugger! to Timbo.
If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhood
A real shame. Just goes to show how unlucky with the injury gods some players can be.
"As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk
Pretty shattered with that news, as I've always been a big fan. I've got no doubt that he would have been a good league footballer if his body had allowed him to be.

The positive side is it opens up another spot on the list. He probably saw that he wasn't going to get a game or drafted elsewhere so took the logical move.
Hope he gets to play footy at a lower level. We will have him at Croydon in Melbourne.
The one thing that I find really disappointing about Tim Schmidt's retirement is that the Swans de-listed Matthew Laidlaw. I would have like to have seen him given one more year.
Schmidtty Poor Bugger had alot of talent and would probably be our 3rd best inside midfielder and entrenched in our 22 if it wasn't for the constant injuries.
It was so sad seeing him break down in the last 2 ressie games he played.
Just shattered for the bloke.
Good luck in Real Estate Tim! Glad you love Sydney enough to live here.

Bad luck for Tim Schmidt. Undeniably talented and by the sounds of it a great clubman.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.
OMG ..we won't have a team left the way things are going. I might get a game.
P.s. That was a dreadfully written article..all overthe place like a mad woman's breakfast.

Bad luck Tim Schmidt.
From what I saw you had what was needed to be a career AFLer.
I am dissappointed for you and would like to add another "Bugger! " along with Primmy's and Jeffer's.
