Kind of a win win though. If they do pick up Irish players then they have an opportunity to make a living playing sport which is not available to them in their current guise. Its a tough time for anyone in Ireland to land a well paying job in the first place, at present. Also it would turn them into professional sportsmen who could teach a lot on their return. And, and this is a bit AND, perhaps its about time the boys playing with the GAA are payed. I mean, where do all those gate receipts go? Who gets the money? Is entry a nominal cost for the public or are they paying the equivalent to our memberships? Will await outcome with interest.
