If some of these re-signings are player related, the timing indicates that there have been contracts close to final for some time and that they were just waiting for the CBA to be agreed to fill in a couple of gaps.

Good news, before the official swans tweet was another tweet about a major new sponsor for the neafl. I thought it was going to be in relation to that. Glad it's not.

I also hope it's Sam. Or Goodes re-signing for another 5 years. Whichever.

Lets hope Horse actually has to get some more runs on the board in 2012 before his contract is extended.

If a plan has been endorsed by the club and they want to give him time to implement it, I'd have no issues with him being extended until end of 2013 for instance as long as it wasn't 5 years or something silly.

Would have to be a pretty disgraceful season for Horse to be in any danger I'd suggest, so the club might as well back him in. (But I have no idea if he is being extended, so this might all be a pointless discussion haha)

Is there anyone else we're waiting on apart from Reid?

The club has never actually made an announcement on Rohan's re-signing, though he hasn't been holding back talking about it. So it is possible that this was an in-principle agreement, awaiting final CBA details. Rohan, Reid and Hannebery are the three most important players (at the moment) of the younger crew, IMO.

It is also possible that some of the players we traded for after 2009 came up on three year contracts, so these would be up for extension sometime this year. I think Mumford came on an initial 4 year deal but JPK and McGlynn might well have been 3 years. Extending Kennedy for a bit longer would be pretty handy (before the Hawks realise what a big mistake they made and try to lure him back!)
