"Luke Parker is likely to play in Sydney's AFL clash against Fremantle on Saturday, two weeks after breaking his jaw in a clash with Greater Western Sydney veteran James McDonald."

Healy just said OTC that LRT is out for 3 weeks with a broken jaw.
Apparently Mitchell has suffered another setback which will put him back a further 3 weeks. It's the knee tendinitis again. Anyone know much about this? Like is it degenerative, can it be operated on ? Etc etc. Seems to keep recurring after it seems to have passed, it has me a bit worried.
Cameron said Mitchell will be assessed on a week-to-week basis. "Tom, who has been training for a couple of weeks and was due to play this week, last week his knee got sore again so he had to shelve our plans for this week," he said. "We'll know more next week as to how long it will be before he returns to play."
It looks like mitchell will not make it this half year if his knee will not improve. Do we know the real issue with tom knee and will it be a long term condition that needs to be fixed.
Thinking pessimistically:
Would this be another case of the curse of the Swans Father Son pick (John, Doyle, James)
or
Another just another case of the curse of the Swans First Round Pick?
Loose translation from the Latin is - I am tall, so I hit out.
That's very pessimistic - the kid is in his first season and his body was never going to be ready from day 1. I have seen him play (on tv last year) and he was an absolute standout in his age group - give him some time to get his knee right, and to build up a bit, and you'll see what has been getting people excited for a couple of years.....
Good news - the return of the Strut. Spang, Alex Brown and Mitchell back on the training track next week.

Medical mystery cleared up. Mumford's back problem was an infection from cortisone injection.
http://www.sydneyswans.com.au/news/n...4/default.aspx"It wasn't until last Friday that he came into training and was very sore in his back again, and it didn't make sense considering he had played well and then hadn't done much since.
"So the doctors got him scanned and found that infection, most likely from the cortisone injection.
He's got nearly a week to get better from the antibiotics.
LRT and Smith have returned to light training, will be monitored this week.

On the Swans website says Mumford out for 3-4 weeks due to having to have an operation to remove infected area as it did not respond to antibiotics.
Watch out LRT. Spangher to play in the Reserves this week. Lockyer also set to return.
Mummo still some way off.
