He's tough as nails but MAYBE a little kamikaze at times. Possibly needs to learn a little restraint - like remembering Saturday was just pre-season. But MAN he is tough!

And then you watch Irish Corner and see the other half of why he's called Man Child. Funny kid.

Imagine a player with (almost) the toughness of Brett Kirk, (almost) the skill of PAul Williams, (almost) the pace of Jared Crouch, and (almost) the endurance of ROK, I believe this is where Parker is headed, officially on the bandwagon, well, have been for some time now

I've said this for a while now.. I reckon he is basically Jude Bolton, but with good skills. The lad will be a VERY VERY handy footy player as long as his body can hold up to the punishment he will hand out to himself and others!

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

I agree with the Jude comparisons. The way he just throws himself at the pack is just amazing. I am also on the bandwagon. Yep a Jude clone with just tweaking of the skills.

Good to know he is part of our future.

Wonder if GWS have eyes for him in the next couple of years?

That's a fear I have as well. On Saturday he was absolutely fearless and I do worry that his body will fail him at some point.

He'll be one of my favourites for many years I think.

    They better not be.

I don't want that lot anywhere near our players.

How good is this kid? We're supremely lucky that he slipped to pick 40 and expectations he'll be having a breakout season seem on the mark going by his pre-season. He many not be quick, but he plays quick. Luke's got a really sharp handball on him and a great desire to chase the ball, jump into packs and provide an option to goal.

He seems to be a really driven individual and watching him blossom will be a highlight for me this year. Jude's been playing the half-forward role more regularly now and certainly Parker seems his naturally replacement.

Mumford, Jack, Kennedy, Hannebery, Parker, Bird - that's a lovely set on emerging on-ballers.

It seems that with the empathises on atheltic speedsters ready made players like Luke Parker have been glossed over, lucky for us eh.

Makes you think that the draft is really nothing but a lottery.

I am with you here. He is a Jude clone but with a little more skill. Just for fun, I looked at the reports at the time of the 2010 draft yesterday (Swans site) and read what they said about each player. It is worth a read because we drafted Lamb, Parker and AJ as well as Strut. One or two of them are quite prophetic, although there were a number of comments about AJ being a forward who we may play down back because of his leg speed.
