Thread: Tommy Walsh to debut!

    Tommy Walsh to debut!

There seems to be a fair few people on Twitter congratulating Tommy on his first AFL start this weekend. Has this been announced yet or just a rumour?

I assume, if true, Tommy's family would have been given the heads up early and word has spread since then.

I hope he does get his chance this weekend and wish him all the best!!

Wow that is news! The teams don't come out until tonight. Would be good to see him out there and playing as a permanent forward. I reckon we might get a few senior players rested this week anyway. So he could be in with a shot along with Armstrong, Morton, Cunningham and Pyke. I'd also like to see the Burmese Kitten gat a full game.

Has the call gone out to his parents?

Teams aren't officially announced until 6.25 today but of course the players would know beforehand. Looking at his twitter feed he's let some of his Irish mates know but didn't tell them not to spill the beans

Best of luck to him, I hope he does well!
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Great news. Good on the club for taking the decision and the Luck of the Irish to Tommy on his debut.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

From Swans website: "full story to follow at 10 am." In the meantime, a teaser.

    Well done Tommy.
Serious question to Ressie watchers - does Tommy do any rucking? Is he likely to replace White? If not, maybe he is going to give Sam a break.
