    Prelim team selection

    Now that we know we are playing the Pies on Friday, who will the coaching staff bring in for poor Benny McGlynn?

    Is it just a straight swap for Reg Grundy? I know they play different roles but we have to contend with Cloke. Having Reg, Ted & LRT down back would go along way to stopping their forwards & LRT can go forward to help out, which might help for losing Benny. Armstrong's good ball used could be used coming out of defence & into attack, I'm worried that Shaw's turnovers could really hurt us, so there could be 2 changes there.

    What do people think?

    With Dawes out, I think the Richards / Grundy combination is best suited to Collingwoods forward line.

    Cant see anything other than In Grundy, Out: McGlynn

    Why on Earth would Shaw be dropped? He's our best runner out of defence and plays differently to Armstrong anyway.

    Not saying drop Shaw, as hes our teams best runner, but his disposals last game were absolutely woeful.

    Reserves game near 3/4 time and Armstrong has just gone down the race. Hopefully rested not injured!

    We may not need two Ruckman for this clash as they only have Jolly.

    So a smoky might be:

    Out: McGlynn, Pyke
    In: Armstrong, White

    That makes no sense. Why would you drop Pyke to play one ruckman and replace him with White, who plays mainly as a ruckman?
