Roos' repeated "The Swans are the master of . . ." was particularly grating last night.
ok he was massively over the top but i still enjoyed it
Dunstall and King where in the box as well and they appeared to be genuinely full of praise of the Swans........almost startled !
"be tough, only when it gets tough"
Just watching a replay of the game at home. I like his informative analysis although he was repetitive sometimes. Don't mind to hear more of him again.
I just watched the replay having been at the game yesterday. Roos does talk too much at times but I don't think he was too pro-Sydney. Let's face it, we were the better team so therefore we're going to get more of the praise. Huddo and Dunstall were also complimentary regularly.
Today's a draft of your epitaph
I love the Chief commentating on our games! He is always pushing us into the spotlight as a subtle dig from the Hawks as to say "We know how good you blokes are, you arent flying under our radar"
The other commentators love him because he has a modern understanding of coaching. About the time that wears off he will have enough experience to be a great commentator - its all good.
Roos knows his stuff, and to be fair he's made some insightful comments for both teams when he's called our games (certainly better to listen to than say Walls), but yeah you're right I do wish he would talk a bit less and let the play-by-play callers do their job!! (My main gripe with commentary in general)
I like it, but hate the idea of neutrals having to sit through it, like we do for a few other blokes. He is way too close to the club.
1 vote for "Push Red for Roos".
Hard to listen to.
I thought he might've pulled back a bit after the Dockers game.
Bloods
"Lockett is the best of all time" - Robert Harvey, Darrel Baldock, Nathan Burke, Kevin Bartlett, Bob Skilton
I also find him a little one eyed and repetitive. If I was neutral,. or supported the other team, I'd find him down right annoying
And he doesn't seem to have a feel for when to shut up, and let the callers take over...ie When a potential goal is looming.
He did it twice on Saturday, both times he talked over the play deadpan style.
Sounded to me like Huddo was a bit annoyed the 2nd time.
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MT
