Thread: Crowd predictions fr Swans v Carlton

NO NRL in Sydney that night, no rugby in Sydney that night, we're top of the ladder and trying to equal our all-time winning streak.
I would think we would exceed at least 35000.

What does NRL or rugby have to do with our crowd numbers?

Erica, surely you jest with this question? There of course is some level of impact on crowd numbers (at both codes playing) when games conflict. Hard to gauge exact numbers I guess but it would effect it to some extent.

Nope, I don't jest at all. I don't believe people wake up on the day and think 'oh, there's no rugby on tonight so let's go to an AFL game instead.'

No, but you have passionate supporters of teams who follow more than one code. My good mate is a case in point. He loves the Swans and goes to every Swans' home game (ANZ or SCG) unless there is an Eels home game being played at a similar time, in which he goes to that. He certainly would not be the only one. Many Swannies' fans are also loyal Waratahs' fans too.

No, they do it over the course of a few days. Or even months in advance!

Also traffic related. Nothing happening next door at SFS

We rarely play a game at the SCG at the same time a game is played next door.

It's not uncommon for an soccer union or league game to be on in the sfs shortly after the swans at scg when they play afternoon games

27,000 + COLA minus the 5% late start in Winter Index = 28,163
