    Swans attack........... Buddy then Parker

does anyone else look at the AFL ladder and think to themselves .........."why is it so ?"

The Swans have Buddy on 41 then way way way back is Parker 16 and Tippett on 14 goals

The Hawks have Breust 42, Roughie 40 and Gunston on 40 goals

Yet the Swans lead the AFL competition 1st possie despite being 400 points behind the Hawks in attack (maybe only 300 behind after tonight) but still 45 goals or so behind in the scoring dept.........

i was more amazed that given we are the number 1 team or at least equal no 1 that we dont have more goal kickers up around the 25 to 30 plus goals like the HAwks do ?

We have great defenders but we are winning the tackle count every week. Fast ,athletic tacklers like B.Jack, Rohan, Lloyd, and Cunningham are putting in in amazing amounts of forward pressure. This forward pressure allows the midfielders to get back into position and block holes in front of Richards and Grundy.

If we can get 90 plus tackles we should win the Hawks game.

If awesome 4-some Buddy, Kurt, Goodsey, Sammy (with the mids chipping in a few) can kick 25+ goals, we should win every game

Shorter SCG, more congested, more tackles = we should then have won coz we tackled more = if we won, more goals scored = greater opportunity to have scored by anyone playing that day

I just checked back on all the results we have had this year and it looks like when we kick more goals than our opponent we usually end up winning that game.

So you think it has to do with tackling, do you Matt? I have a vague recollection of having heard that before.
