The report on AFL website says racial abuse was directed at both Goodes and Franklin. Thankfully Swans players did not hear it.
Disgraceful that it happened, but really encouraging that other spectators reported it.
It really is sad that this keeps happening. One good thing that came out of this is that it was Bulldog supporters that reported this person. Unfortunately there are going to be some idiots out there that think this behavior is ok.
I saw this guy getting ejected. Didn't hear what he said but thought it must have been something like this when he was being escorted out.
Looked like a well dressed elderly gent who should have known better but, hopefully, it is only that generation that the rest of society will struggle to educate about the inappropriateness of such behaviour.
He was on the top deck at the end where us Swans fans had gathered (high above the cheer squad). I didn't see too many Dogs supporters up there.
Did everyone see the donkey behind the goals waving a wad of cash at Buddy after he kicked a goal? I guess when you watch your team lose every week you gotta do something to keep it interesting.
Watched it and thought ,nothings changed at the Bulldogs. Watched a couple of games in the 90 s travel-led on the tram system and was amazed at the one dimensional thought pattern ! not a good look !
At least that's a bit funny...and harmless.
Good article by Andrew Webster on this incident and more generally on the racism directed at Goodes by AFL crowds.
Continuing racist abuse of Adam Goodes shows how far we still have to go
