    Onya Goodesy.
That's a really good point, Annie. If Adam doesn't take a stand and single someone out in the crowd I can't see any way at all that Eddie gets the support that he has received in this incident.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

The best result here is for Eddie to interview/mediate the girl, and impart what he learnt about racism.
    Would make great TV

Amazingly, in his blog Bolt has referred to the Betts' incident and said "Its not playing the racist card to give something its proper name."

And then received a tirade of angry comments from people berating him! (I despair at the number of people who assert that throwing a banana at an indigenous man is not a racist act.)

Gawwddd, I think that might be the first time that I've actually agreed with Bolt? Maybe, he's a bit busy and he got a work experience kid to write his blog today, or something?
Though, reading the comments section under his articles is always a strange experience. To quote the Beatles, "All the lonely people, where do they all come from?" But in a less charitable perspective, it's easy to see why that they're lonely.

Even before hearing the Caroline Wilson commentary, I got really angry hearing the AFL's forceful response to the Betts incident. Why wasn't such appropriate force not used with Adam Goodes, particularly the Eddie 'King Kong' comment?

    Disgraceful!

Good on Caroline Wilson for pointing this out.

Iinteresting that the two main people called out for racism at AFL are young single white females.

The uproar from fans & Gill over this banana chuck (which is wrong on many levels, but slightly ambiguous When compared with Chin's King Kong gaff). The girl is crucified by club & community (not unjustified) but the fat controller has to do a little counselling & is laughed off as another Eddie verbal slip. Neither were acceptable, but the fat man got off easy.

IMO Gills stance on this and relatively weak stance to Chins in comparison is deplorable.

You know what I actually love about the "lady" throwing the banana... she wasn't a 13 year old girl.
Not one troll out there can say, leave her alone, she's just a child.

    She deserves to be crucified.
If I were the PAFC, I'd make her sit through the respect classes, THEN ban her for life.
Giving her a lifeline to welcome her back at some stage, is not OK.
    People like her never learn.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Very, very, very good point. In America, McGuire's comments would have had him unemployed and stripped of all positions of responsibility. Here, he got a slap on the wrist and had to endure a little embarrassment before his life returned to normal.
