First time in ages we've got an early start to preseason and don't have a heap of players ending the year hobbling. We actually go on holidays fit!

Forget Friday night, this list is in good shape, so many highly skilled kids to fit into the 22 and a couple more added at the draft. Most of the rookies show promise, be interesting to see how we handle those list wise.

McVeigh the only definite retirement next year, several ressie players probably won't get a 2019 contract.

Given what the team achieved this year after the dreadful preseason and early rounds woes, the future's so bright, gotta wear shades! Who sang that?

I'm actually hoping the Crows win it from here. Their playing style is the best to watch in the AFL. They lost Dangerfield in a trade that Geelong got by far the most out of, they then had a new coach come in who did an incredible job. He then passed away in tragic circumstances. Then another new coach comes in and does a wonderful job. Their players seem like decent guys. Eddie Betts is one of my favourite of all time.

I wouldn't mind crows winning it. Anyone but Richmond really.

Positives only Barry, positives! I live in Adelaide, nothing positive about a Crows flag, be fawningly unbearable all summer :-(
But at least you're positive wanting a Wretchmond fail :-)

    Positives -

    * We don't have to sit through another Grand Final loss this year.
    * We have missed the finals only twice this century.
    * We have already made the finals half as many times this century (15) as we did during the whole of the 20th century (27).
    * AJ has returned to playing for the first time since 2012 and we should see him in the seniors next year.

Positives: huge effort to get back from 0-6. Some great highlights this year: I had the privilege of seeing the last-gasp Rnd 14 win over the Bombers and Buddy's 10 goals vs Carlton. The win in Adelaide was huge too.

    Dean Towers in the ruck
    Will Hayward
    Lewis Melicans exceptional development
    Zak Jones breakout year
Callum Mills did not have 2nd year blues
Isaac Heeney's move to the midfield
    Jake Lloyd
Macca and Kizzas rediscovery of form
Nic Newman finally breaking into the side
    AJ playing again
    Dawson waiting in the wings
Buddy's 10 v Carlton first time at the SCG this millennium

Biggest positive is that with a few changes we can be a serious contender for next year.

Sinclair might actually be a better forward/ruck than Tippett.
Towers has worked out how he needs to play to make a strong contribution.
We have pretty strong defensive unit that should only get better.
Reid played (almost) a whole season.
The newbies got BLOODed early in the season.
Hayward has shown a lot in his first season and looks to have a lot more potential
