Thought Eagles got hosed by umps in first half. Lot of non calls. Howe's drag in near the goal square and non holding the ball decisions that should have penalised Pies.

Unbelievable!! They complain about one incorrect call and it's a big issue. Collingwood received 4 more free kicks. I can remember about 15 non decisions that happened in 2016 GF to the Swans, that were never mentioned by mid stream media. Funny about that!

Yes, I thought that the umpiring favoured Collingwood to a certain degree, but it wasn't too bad. I don't have to think too hard, to remember a GF or two, where umpiring has been a whole lot worse.

Yeah agree. I doubt the AFL is going to issue a statement saying that the umpiring standard was poor but difficult to determine whether it affected the result of the GF.

A lot of MCC and AFL members are Collingwood supporters so a lot more of their supporters got a ticket.

I heard that in the name of equilization Carlton will have a 50 x 7 metre rectangle.

who aren't supporters of the grand final teams. So it seems the priority of squeezing in as many non-supporters as possible
    comes before a fair game.
The 66,000 includes AFL Members (which I am) & MCC Members. So that's more members that can attend for the Victorian based team which increases their advantage. Yesterday there were thousands of Collingwood supporters around me and last year was the same with Richmond playing.

Never takes much for a bit of a whine after a Melbourne team gets when there is even a whiff of a bad call or two (I thought on balance the game was pretty well umpired yesterday) - yet when any swans dare suggest they got bent over and taken for a ride in 2016, its all about 'sore losers' and that's that....

Yes, I was referring to the AFL's explanation of the poor umpiring in the 2016 GF which undoubltly cost us the flag. I still get annoyed with radio commentators who chuckle at Swans supporters when they ring & bring this up, like we're a bunch of whingers and need to get over it. But yet people like Matthews, Malthouse & Robbo scream headlines Magpies were robbed of flag on Saturdsy because of one 50/50 (technical) decision, even though they still won the free kick count!

Maybe the length of a teams square could be determined by their position on the ladder eg. 18th = 36m, 17th =35m, ect ect.

You sure that will be big enough? In the name of equalisation, I think the Carlton kick outs should be taken from
inside their own goal square. And if they miss the first time, they get a second go at it.
