Darcy Moore is on less than Dane Rampe, Daniher on similar $ to Tom Mitchell which is a fair bit less than Parker.
Without seeing the story, what are the journalists going on, when individual player contracts aren't supposed to be made public? I don't think any club officials would say, 'well, I know I'm not supposed to do this, but this is what our players are getting'. And if they tried to ask every player, I think most would say that it's none of their business. Maybe an agent would make a statement or two? But I don't really consider player agents to be reliable sources.

I doubt theypublish 2 days of players salaries in the most read newspapers in the country without some level of accuracy.
FYI they had a 50k spread

Presumably a leak from AFL head office as I think that is the only place where contract information for all players from every club would be held.

It’s a significant breach of privacy. Shouldn’t be hard for the AFL to find the person who provided the information - and then sack them. I’d be angry if I were one of the players with my salary details splashed in the paper.

Ps: then again, if HS simply made up the salary details just shrug and move on. Though it would be annoying if you were a player whose salary had been hugely over-guessed.

Are you serious? The Herald Sun are known for many things but honesty and integrity are not normally in there. Writing stuff based on limited information is pretty standard.

Correct. Saw a tweet about this by Ted Richards saying that the journalists are simply guessing and their list is opinion with no underlying facts. It's outright fabrication but it will sell newspapers to nuffies.

Murdoch papers are specialists in attracting nuffies. Glad he is a Yank now although he still has a toxic influence here.

Carlton are not trading Walsh. Forget about it.

Although every club would like to have Papley, I don't think Carlton will be so interested this year. Jack Martin has worked out very well. Michael Gibbons is a regular in the side and playing well. I don't know why Zac Fisher isn't playing. He's not on the injury list. Maybe with Betts still playing, there's no room for Fisher, who is quite a good player and deserves to be in the side.

When Charlie Curnow returns from injury they will be a tall forward side, with Curnow, McKay and Casboult. I don't think Papley fits all that well at Carlton.

    I think Papley is staying.

I don't have a HS subscription, but the Roar posted the top 100 paid players. There was only 1 Josh Kennedy on the list. I wonder which one it is. Did the HS specify?

I think the HS has pieced it together from what is publicly available (people on here seem to know Buddy’s deal for example), agents, clubs and other bits of information e.g. some players are known to be in the top pay bracket via free agency etc.

But I’m sure there is a fair bit of guesswork in there and what about the incentive component of player contracts, or does that account for the $50k spread?

I couldn't see a Josh Kennedy in the Herald Sun list.

Anyone added up the Richmond players to see how much that comes to?

Ugg, you're a numbers man, maybe do every team?? :-)

Charlie Constable set to request a trade at the end of the year

Why young Cat is set for a likely trade request: Sam Edmund

Constable has been told he can no longer play in the same Geelong midfield as Joel Selwood and Patrick Dangerfield – setting the scene for a likely trade request at seasons end.

Constable, the No.36 pick in the 2017 national draft, completed a one year apprenticeship in the VFL in 2018 before last year making a bright start to his career by racking up 31 disposals and a goal in only his second game to earn a rising star nomination.

He averaged 23.2 touches in his first six appearances.

Yes please - exactly the sort of profile we should be targeting if you ask me if he was to be available and interesting in moving to Sydney.
