They kept Stephens over Roberts which surprises me a little! Hope he plays a blinder

Thought that Francis was no good for most of the season but he’s been really sound the last two weeks. Surprised they dropped him

Roberts may be the sub. Clarke might need a run in the VFL.

I thought Roberts struggled last week

Not really a good match to a fast flowing game this weekend and or fast exits from clearances

Played well in the last quarter

Agree when we were up by 4 goals leading into the 4th qtr Matt looked better

It was a seriously tough scramble game first 2.5 qtrs and he had to play a run with role in the main which is not his go…….but I think what we see now vs another pre season will be chalk and cheese

For me Stephens is a smarter choice for this game and Roberts is not on the pace yet

But maybe by next season he and sheldrick are demanding a top22 spot ?

Sheldrick is already best 22. We miss him.

Definitely he’s missed a bit of footy also this year . Obvious choice for sub when the heats out a bit from the game

Only turned 20 a couple of weeks ago. Very big upside. Same as Sheldrick who is still 19 I think. Both contracted another 2 years after this season.

I agree with your assessment Auntie. Once Roberts picks up the pace of the game he will be fine, but he is not there yet.

I also suspect that if we are going to loose Stephens to North or whoever, we need to maximise our return in terms of draft picks if he chooses to move on, and playing him in the senior team will help
