Last game of the regular season with the Bud getting a halftime farewell!

We can finish as high as fifth if:

a) we beat Melbourne
b) Brisbane beat St Kilda
c) GWS beat Carlton
d) We gain 4.5 percentage on Carlton due to big wins at a) and c)

In this scenario, we’d get a home final against St Kilda or GWS depending on the size of thee GWS win.

However, 4.5 percentage is a lot to gain considering the teams involved so I think a win vs Melbourne will probably see us finish 6th (assuming Brisbane beat St Kilda) vs St Kilda or GWS

If we lose, we will be 7th if Carlton beat GWS, 8th if GWS win.

Outs: McCartin (suspended if no appeal, or appeal unsuccessful) and Papley (managed)

Whilst a home final would be good, id prefer to get everyone ready for the final regardless of where its played. If that means rest etc then so be it

First Swans-Melbourne game at the SCG since 2019.

As ever I think the Swans best can win it, and they have a few positive psychological factors: at home for the last H&A game, on a winning streak and perhaps a good send-off for the retirees.

That said, if they play a last quarter like the Crows game they'll make it very difficult for themselves!

We can still get a home final if the Saints win if:

a) we beat Melbourne
b) GWS beat Blues
c) we gain 4.5 percentage on the Blues through a) and b)

Not easy, but GWS won by 21 goals on the weekend.

At least we know whether we can guarantee at least 6th place by the time we take the field as we will know whether or not Brisbane took care of St Kilda.

But given the industry outrage after the tribunal agreed with Rampe, and maybe with an inkling that they might need to use it again in the near future, they elected to give Braedon a week to rest and rejuvenate and fine-tune his 60m bombs.

Little did they realise that they would need to roll out this defence again so soon, and in a week when the club is Public Enemy No 1 after we single-handedly ruined the Crows’ rampant premiership thrust.
