I think the Bombers gave up on the year a while back. But I do remember the last round of 2016.
Swans smashed Tigers by 100+ points and we know how that panned out for both clubs.
I don’t think Bombers will win next year but I don’t think we should read too much into this junk time result
will scott want his old job back with the afl. still open
The Bombers dare I say it had quite a similar dramatic form reversal about 10 years ago and we all know how that ended.
Surely lightning hasn't struck twice in the same room out at The Hangar.
It's an odd-numbered year. Richmond has never finished ninth in an odd-numbered year, not even when they played in the VFA.
Final eight, Richmond finished in ninth: 1994, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2006, 2008.
Other finals systems, Richmond finished ninth: 1908, 1912, 1952, 1964
The only time they have just missed out on finals in an odd-numbered year was when they finished fifth in 1965.

No doubt Richmond will hear the siren call of ninth place again next year. Will they finish there?
"Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi final
Watching the Suns-Norf game reminds me why the player I wanted us to go drag out of Norf was Nick Larkey. What he’s done the past few years in a totally crap side is remarkable.
'Delicious' is a fun word to say
Norf are over five goals up halfway through the last quarter and Larkey has kicked 8. No tanking going on here!

Larkey nine goals now! Crikey!
I don't know why North are so crap, but it's not a lack of talent. A lack of age/experience/size and strength of that talent might be a factor, but their list doesn't need an injection of talent via additional concessions.
Larkey, Simpkin, Curtis, Thomas, Wardlaw, Davies-Uniacke, Powell, Sheezel, Scott, Xerri, Ford etc etc. There's plenty of talent there.
The main gap in their list is quality, experienced defenders. Corr isn't that good, Logue isn't that big (and is out for the next twelve months). Imagine if there were a 26 yo, 200cm+ big bodied key defender they could secure for their list...
Now that Brisbane have outlasted St Kilda, a win against Melbourne tomorrow means that we host a final. If Carlton beat GWS, that final will be against St Kilda. If GWS wins, it will be either against them or St Kilda.
