At last a member of the Sydney media letting the Swans and public know....

The only way the Swans will get better is if more is expected of them.

From the position Sydney has come from in the late 80's/early 90's to where they are now, is why they have been seen as succesful in some eyes IMO.
Persoanlly while I want to see Sydney finally capture that holy grail, regardless of results I will always support them, I am not one to jump on which ever band wagon has the most success.
Also in the eyes of Sydney sporting public/media, they are seen as more of a curiosity and as such for the most part results aren't scrutinised as much such as in Melbourne,Perth,Adelaide.
Hence not as much pressure on when the results aren't there.

i look forward to the day when after a loss, the swans players are too scared and ashamed to go out their front door of a monday morning for fear of being stoned.

Well would be nice to see AFL in Sydney come into more prominence in the eyes of the Media/Public but when the AFL have only been here since 1982 compared to Rugby League which has been around in Sydney since the very early 1900's, snowflakes chance in hell of the happening.

"If the definition of success is the premiership, then there are 15 failures and only one success every year. That's not true. But, having said that, if the Swannies keep knocking on the door like they have been, then you'd like to think that eventually someone will open the bastard."
    Love that!

    Good article overall.

Or better, yet, spat on! Then we'd really be true supporters

No, that would just make us like vile feral Richmond supporters.

    My god.

I usually ignore your statements, but that is plain out stupid, you certainly want players to be playing with all they have and to hurt after a loss, but I will be stuffed if I ever want to end up like the deranged soccer nations where people fear for their lives.
