Nope, I didn't see it on the tele, only the body slam.

Okay thoughts of the match - pretty much could be summed up by this Welcome Back Willo

And who honestly thought he was going to be quietly ease his way back into the action - instead he topped the possession count *g*

I said to someone at the ground between Willo and Amon they racked up almost 50 possessions between them while Magic and BBH kicked half the team's goals.

The major plus for me was the fact we had 7 individual goal kickers.

Buchanan needs to play in the midfield full time. He makes some terrible clangers but he can get the ball often enough to provide a net positive contribution.

Except for that burst when we kicked 3 goals in about as many minutes, our skills have still been ordinary. Amazing how many times we miss targets or take the wrong option.
I agree a net positive contribution but it would be even greater if he restricts his kicking. Most of the time he just flops it up too high to no one in particular. He should model his game on Black from Brisbane or Diesal Williams and use quick hands too someone who can kick.

I think his hands are worse than his feet.

I disagree, under pressure, in a pack he finds the gap to get the ball out to a team mate more often than not.

The "quick release" feature on one the poles was really cool. Lucky it didn't release any earlier.

I thought Barry and Bolton did solid defensive jobs.

Pity about the late goals to Freo, could have hurt the %.

Saddington looked a bit lost and awkward on occasions.

Hall was too good for Johnson but a tad wasteful.

Willo was great considering the time he had off. Maybe the calf was a blessing in disguise as it probably allowed his collarbone some extra time to heal. Was really impressed with his tackling today given his severe injury to the shoulder area ; he didn't hold back.

Jolly is fiery, may have to curb his temper on occasions.

Buchanan did some great thing, committed some clangers, ordinary at times but he's a goer.

Ablett was down on recent matches.

MOL and Davis were the silk, both very constructive and looked classy. MOL probably best suited in some ways to the SCG because of his fitness concerns.

LRT didn't seem as indecisive but didn't do a lot.

Crouch's pace is handy at times breaking the lines to ease the congestion.

Freo was certainly undermanned but is dangerous when their backs are to the proverbial wall ; they tend to win when not expected to. Pavlich was certainly well held.

Was because he was following Bell who kept running back into our forward line.

Dempster had wooden hands today. Looks as though he struggled to get back into the tempo of the big time. Happens sometimes when young blokes get dropped. Confidence and touch are hard things to regain sometimes.

I think you will find that Ablett had the job on Josh Carr who had little influence.

Nico I agree about Nog's effort on Carr was v. good indeed.

    Roosy on the game

Awesome praise for Amon and the youngsters - not to forget the mentor in the midfield:

Williams finished with 16 kicks, nine handballs, three marks, four tackles, six inside-50's and five goal assists
I knew he had the 25 possessions I lost count with the other stuff (after 4 inside 50's and 3 goal assists) though.

Even with those two goals conceded because the Roos beat Richmond it means we're in striking distance of 5th now and quite possibly a top 4 finish if the results go our way with the future.
